Filipino Solidarity Event Held at MCEA HQ

Labor solidarity and support for workers extends beyond the shores of the United States. International solidarity is a hallmark of AFT’s commitment to workers’ rights across the globe. AFT-Maryland Welcomes Mylene Cabalona, President of BPO Industries Employees Union (BIEN) of the Philippines

Join us on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at MCEA Headquarters at 6pm for a reception and meet-and-greet with Mylene Cabalona, President of BIEN. BIEN captured the attention of the US labor movement when they refused to scab for Verizon during the Communication Workers of America's 2016 strike. 

Mylene was invited by the AFL-CIO to their conference in Philadelphia alongside two other union leaders, who aim to build a stronger partnership between the US and the Philippines labor movements.

MCEA joins with the Poor Peoples Campaign March & Caravan

This Friday, June 17th, at 10am, MCEA and AFT-Maryland will be joining the opening rally of the Poor Peoples March and Caravan from Baltimore to DC.

Harford County Site Visits - Week of May 23, 2022

MCEA representatives will be visiting Harford County worksites on a regular basis moving forward. It is crucial that we stay connected so that we can meet our goals: a workplace that is fair and respectful. We spend more than a third of our daily lives at work--let's make it a good experience!
