MD Governor's Debate Viewing Party, 10/7

AFT-Maryland will host a viewing party for the Brown & Hogan Gubernatorial Debate, Tuesday, October 7th, at the Baltimore Teachers Union Headquarters.

Join your union sisters and brothers as we watch the two candidates for governor- including Labor-endorsed Anthony Brown- engage in the final debate before the general election. Food and soft drinks will be provided.

AFTMD joins rally for Social Security and Medicare

AFT Maryland affiliates including members of the Baltimore Teachers Union and the City Union of Baltimore joined with AFT National and other labor unions and progressive organizations at a Sept. 18 rally on Capitol Hill to protect seniors' hard earned benefits. Speakers included Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Progressive Caucus Co-Chair Keith Ellison (D-MN).

The 2014 MACo was held this year at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City Maryland. MCEA was well represented at this annual event with President Linda Day, Executive Director Jack Nelson and Salisbury staff liaison Karen Coulbourne. AFT-MD locals support Postal Workers in Los Angeles

Carroll County Government and MCEA MOU

Carroll County Government and MCEA has entered into another Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The Agreement takes effect from June 19, 2014 and will expire on June 30, 2016. MCEA Chief Negotiator, Michael Keeney extends his thanks to the Carroll County Commissioners along with the Carroll County Office of Human Resources for finalizing yet another successful MOU.
