Take a Break at Our Labor Day Picnic
Many of us in the school system don’t plan much for Labor Day weekend so we can be ready for the start of the school year the next day. But you deserve your holiday and this is the perfect way to celebrate the accomplishments of the labor movement.
Attached is a flier with the details about our annual Labor Day picnic. We have entertained the NoVa Labor Federation at Veterans’ Park in Woodbridge for the past 20 years and you and your family are invited to join us at noon on September 1st.
Reclaiming the Promise of Fairness by PWFT President Bill Hosp
Grievance prevention is the best way to protect yourself in your workplace. The best way to handle any trouble is to nip it in the bud. Call PWFT at 703-490-3016 or our Office Manager at 571-238-6798 when you need help.
You need our help when you are contacted by Risk Management, Child Protective Services or the police. Call prior to meeting with them. When a student or parent threatens you, when you are placed on a professional improvement plan or when you are being disciplined, reprimanded or dismissed, you need to call. Also, when you want to know if you can file a grievance, receive a needs improvement evaluation or have questions about policies and regulations, don’t hesitate to call us.
Remember you have the right to have a silent witness at a conference when two or more administrators are present or you are being disciplined, placed on probation or suspended according to Regulation 506.03-1. We are here for you.
