Swearing-In Ceremony of 51st Mayor

City employees are invited to attend the Swearing-In Ceremony of the 51st Mayor, Bernard C. “Jack” Young scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the War Memorial Building, 101 N Gay Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. Doors will open at 12:30PM and the ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00PM. The ceremony should take approximately one (1) hour.

Recognizing the Stop and Shop strike as an important moment in the labor movement, many of us became stakeholders and showed our solidarity. For one UHP member it was about even more than that.

Going on strike is a part of the labor movement that most of us as public employees can’t relate to because it’s not a legal option for us. But for Megan McCreesh, it was the only option. 

MCEA Statewide Meeting 2019

The 2019 statewide meeting was a necessary and important one for MCEA. The business of the union was handled in a productive and efficient manner. The most pressing issue for the union right now is the need to grow the membership. While this is a challenge for any public-sector union, the solution isn’t always that easy.
