Recently our Jean Castagno (far right), a clinical office assistant in dermatology, was part of a group of union activists who went to Helena, Montana, to work with the newly merged Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE). It was part of AFT’s Member Organizing Institute (MOI) program. Here's what she had to say about it:

Congratulations to the amazing Faculty and Staff Federation of Community College of Philadelphia, Local 2026, which reached tentative agreements on three contracts Wednesday night, averting a strike that could have disrupted learning forf 27,000 students. Solidarity wins!
What: Walk out organized by AFT Seattle Local 1789 in conjunction with affiliate unions and with support from District administration.
Who: all Seattle Colleges stakeholders--faculty, staff, students, and supporters from across the state.
When: Tuesday, April 16, 2019, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
Mass gathering 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Where: locations at North, South and Central campus
On April 30th, NYSUT's Suffolk and Nassau Regions will be jointly staging a massive CORRECT THE TESTS!!
