MPEC Steward Training May 2019

Members were fired up and ready to go at the MPEC Steward Training on Thursday May 30, 2019. The training, held in Baltimore, brought together stewards from across a variety of agencies for an intensive training of how to best serve members of the union on the job. Michael Spiller of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) was the lead facilitator during the training.

2019 Ed MN Retired Annual Meeting

The 2019 Retired Annual Meeting was held on Friday, April 26 at Jimmy’s Event Center in Vadnais Heights.  A great breakfast was provided (lots of coffee) and an equally great welcome was extended by President Julie Jagusch to the 80+ attendees.

The 2018 Janus v. AFSCME Supreme Court decision was a blow against organized labor and public sector unions in particular. While anti-union advocates may have thought they struck a death knell against labor, the energy from the MPEC annual member meeting suggests the Janus decision may have only awakened a sleeping giant.

RC 12 Trip to Mackinac Island Michigan June 12 - 18, 2022.

This trip include the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. 

 

 The trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan has been rescheduled for June 12 - 18, 2022. 

If there are some openings for the trip, it will be announced in the August issue of The Outlook.

Board of Trustees of Monroe Community College

May 10, 2019

 

Resolved that:  The members of the Faculty Association of Monroe Community College hereby register a Vote of No Confidence in the Board of Trustees.  Our grounds include mismanagement of College resources, lack of transparency and urgency regarding the financial and enrollment crises, negligence in overseeing the student experience, and contempt for College employees, particularly faculty and staff.
