Donny Gardner is a special education teacher in Detroit Public Schools. His classroom is under pressure due to large class sizes and underfunding. It's time to give him the support he needs to ensure his students get the best education.

Teacher2Teacher is a community where hundreds of teachers have been coming together to learn from and inspire each other. Out of this came a social media explosion called #whyiteach.

EMU has committed to exploration of some potential alternatives to the current pay schedule that has been so problematic for many Part-Time Lecturers.

This Saturday, April 23, 2016, we will hold a Praxis SLLA Educational Leadership Workshop at Louisiana State University for anyone who plans to take the assessment as part of the requirements for school leadership/administrator certification. We will also hold a Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching Exam Workshop for anyone who plans to take the PLT exam as part of the requirements for certification. 

Keeping Current

Several members enjoyed our first Spring Fling on March 12. We had guests, good food, and a good time getting to talk with each other. Those who attended signed a recommitment to their union. Everyone was given an insulated lunch bag with the TFP logo and words, "We Make a Difference Every Day." Check out photos from the event.
